Trams Limited acquires Cancom Limited. Trams were advised by Kingswood Corporate Finance, who also assisted by raising additional debt finance resources in order to develop the business.

The acquisition strengthens Trams Group as the largest Apple B2B Value Added Reseller in the UK, and a significant force in the WinTel market.

The Trams Group has never been better placed to meet the needs of our customers with core strengths in the Creative, Education, New Media, Broadcast, Finance, Government and Business IT markets.

Background Information

Following the management buyout of Trams in 2003 by Warren Peel (Managing Director) and Alex Page (Director), and the acquisition of Rapid Group in 2008, Trams Group have been seeking further expansion through new acquisitions. The acquisition of Cancom Ltd is a positive and significant step in their mission to provide improved value and services for their customers.

Cancom UK’s core strengths are in the apple Education market, B2B and Mail Order. Trams will be looking to significantly expand the company’s growth in Education, and provide Corporate Business with Apple Enterprise Solutions, helping customers deploy, manage and support Mobile devices including Apple’s iPad.

Founded in 1990, Trams is a leading provider of hardware, software and networking solutions to the business market place. Trams has the ability to analyse precise requirements, and then specify, design, supply and support complex multi-vendor IT infrastructures. The company has partnerships with many of the world’s most innovative vendors including Apple, Cisco, HP, Compaq, IBM, Microsoft, Sun and Toshiba.

Clients include Associated Newspapers, BBC, Guardian Media Group, IPC Media, Pearson and T-Mobile.

Warren Peel and Alex Page carried out a Management Buyout in 2003 to become joint owners and co-directors. Trams are a major IT supplier to the Creative Services, Broadcast and Business IT markets.
